Love, Eternally

Love, Eternally

This month I’ve been exploring love in all of it’s glorious nuances and applications. We’ve talked about the importance of loving one’s self, the ups and downs of romantic love, and today I’d like to cover eternal love. Love that knows no time limits, no constraints, no bounds whatsoever.

My friend and house-helper, Kimmy, (pictured with me here) is someone who knows eternal love. On Valentine’s seven years ago, she and her husband of more than 30 years, Casey, had a wonderful day shopping, talking, and dining together. After dinner he called out to her from their bedroom. She rushed in to discover him unable to talk, and less than an hour later he died from a brain aneurysm.

For the first three or four years after he passed, she was at his grave side nearly every afternoon. It brings her peace to visit often still. I’ve heard her say things like “My husband Casey loves fresh crab” or “My husband Casey is so excited about the World Series“, as if he is only in the next room.

She’s not clinging to the past; her life today is full and busy with friends and grandkids, new hobbies, and travel, but her commitment to Casey and the love they had together lives on just as fresh and vibrant as it ever was.

When asked by my husband, “Kim, do you think you’ll ever re-marry?” her answer was simple and sweet, “I AM married, my husband has just gone on ahead of me.

Kim and Casey are not the only ones I’ve met who’ve had an eternal love. I am fascinated and inspired by such relationships!

Have you known eternal love or witnessed it in others? Can you share the story with me? Write me HERE, I’ll be eagerly checking my mail!

Delilah’s Love Challenge | Bon Jovi FlyAway Sweepstakes

On the air and on social media I’ve encouraged you to take Delilah’s Love Challenge; which is to place focus on the positive and to post only encouraging messages of love throughout the month of February.

Your response has been, well, very positive! People are loving the Love Challenge and I am too! Here’s just a few of the comments:

“I love that you inspire and encourage so many people (including me). I feel the love pouring out of you as it reaches all those who hear your messages of hope. Thank you for sharing Gods love and putting others first.” ~ Tina

“Thank you for your challenge. I vowed to follow it and it has stopped me from making some negative posts today regarding our political situation. It was hard, but in the long run it truly felt better to stay quiet.” ~ Patricia

“Absolutely LOVE this challenge, with all of the negativity in the world right now, it couldn’t come at a better time; as the song says “What the world needs now is Love, sweet Love…”” ~ Pat

“I haven’t posted anything mean but it is harder than I thought to let stuff go (not call them on it) when so many people are nasty to each other. I’ve got 26 more days to get it right though. :)” ~ Kimberly

It even caught the attention of Bon Jovi, who teamed up with me for the Delilah’s Love Challenge FlyAway Sweepstakes! We’re sending two people to Los Angeles on March 8 to see Bon Jovi in concert and to a back-stage Meet & Greet! Airfare and hotel accommodations are included!

Click the link on this page to enter (to do so, you must tell me a love story) or go to and enter there. Good Luck!

I recently finished reading This Life I Live by Rory Feek. He tells about the amazing bond of love between he and his late wife Joey with such passion. It is awe inspiring.

I was so touched by their story that I’ve chosen the book to feature in an upcoming book club, so stay tuned for more on that.

It’s obvious that they shared the same powerful eternal love as Kimmy and Casey. God obviously blessed both these couples with a love that would sustain them through the premature loss of their soul mates.

Delilah’s Family & Friends Movie Night Sweepstakes | The Shack

Pssssssst: We’ve got another AMAZING sweepstakes coming up next week.

Beginning Monday, February 20th, you can enter to win tickets for you and 25 friends and family members to see The Shack.

We’re even throwing in the popcorn and snacks!

Six packages will be given away, three each week.

So, don’t forget to go to on Monday and enter for your chance to win!

I hope you had a special Valentine’s Day yesterday with the ones that you love. Notice I said the “ones”, not the “one.” Why? Because when we make Valentine’s Day only about a sweetheart or a romantic partner, we cheat ourselves out of all the abundance of love in our life.

I’ve always advocated for sharing expressions of love with family, friends, kids, even complete strangers. That’s what the Delilah show is all about!

And don’t forget, the foundation to loving others is belief and love of self. I hope you treated yourself just as sweetly and lovingly as you feel others deserve to be treated – You are worth it!

Thanks for taking the Love Challenge with me. Just one more way to Love Someone!

~ Delilah
